My first time eating Nepalese and it won't be my last! I am so grateful for the staff who helped us decide what to order on our Saturday lunch date. Although I'd had palak chat before, this was by far the best I've ever had. I'll go back to Nanglo even if it's just to eat more of that! Knowing we were noobies, the kind server recommended a Thakali Thali, a popular, complete Nepali meal, so we chose the "Nanglo Set for Two Non-Veg" because we'd just finished a workout and needed protein. The entire dish was delicious, but the momos stood out as it was our first time having them. If you don't get the Thakali Thali, you must try the chicken momo and veg chilly momo. It was more than enough for two people, so we took the chicken biryani and veggie chow-min to go! Dana Lewis2025-09-14Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great spot with Nepalese and Indian food on H Street! Well managed with extremely friendly and courteous staff. Food was excellent and as someone well versed in Nepalese cuisine - this was spot on! We tried the buff suketi, goat sekuwa, mustang aloo, and both chicken and buff Momos! Our only request was a bit more spice/heat on the sauces. But the owner brought us green chiles and a spicier sauce to supplement to our taste! Getting their liquor license soon which will make this place an even better night time spot for a bite and drinks! We’re vegetarian so we were excited about so many vegetarian and vegan options. My favorite dish was the cauliflower wings — best I’ve ever had! The service was super, prices affordable, portions generous, and the appetizer dishes were basically extra large “small plates” you’d find at other places. For two people, we ordered three apps and one dish — and had a full meal of leftovers to take home! You can tell the owners put a lot of thought into all the fine details. The atmosphere was on point. We’ll definitely be coming back! Yara Tawfik2025-09-14Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Delicious food and great service! Amy Weedon2025-09-14Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This restaurant is incredible. We got the vegetarian tasting platter for two. The different dishes were so flavorful and the Nepalese influences were unique and interesting. Not you usual Indian restaurant. Will be back soon. Keyur Desai2025-09-13Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A brand new Nepalese / Indian restaurant on the H Street corridor. Situated on H & 13, Nanglo is tastefully decorated. Bright open windows and hanging beaded ropes give the restaurant an open ambiance. Let's talk about the food. The portions are generous - come ready to EAT, DC! The prices are fair. I can't think of when the last time I said that was, can you?? We (party of two vegetarians) got the mango lassi, virgin mango mojito, cauliflower bezule (breaded fried cauliflower "wings"), sev batata puri (aka "pani puri" at other Indian restaurants - rice puffs [puri] filled with vegetables and crunchy thin sev and with a delicious sauce), samosa chat (deconstructed samosa), paneer makhani (paneer in a tomato cream gravy), and garlic naan. We had leftovers and probably didn't even need the entree, but have no regrets. If you are any of the below, come here: a fan of tasty food, vegetarian, looking to support a local restaurant, like a good meal at a very fair price, are breathing or alive.
