PrabhTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Good food. Ask for extra spicy. Steam momos are too good. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the ambiance was awesome! Loved their thali set and momo; very authentic Nepali taste! Highly recommended . Shaji HaqTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Food was great. Halal sign and verbal confirmation, but I was surprised to see they also serve alcohol. It made me uncomfortable and I questioned the halal status as a result. So, I stuck with fish for dinner, which was really good. Qasim KhanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The food is legit fantastic. The service was fantastic and our waiter was really kind. We ordered steamed chicken momos, chicken 65, aloo chat, and veggie pakoras as apps. They were all exceptional. Then we had lamb biryani, chicken tikka masala, daal tadka and the bread basket as mains. We finished it off with mango kulfi for dessert. For drinks: mango lassi of course. Best food from the subcontinent I’ve had in DC, and it’s our go to whenever friends visit. Sandip YashpalTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Himalayan Doko delivers an unforgettable dining experience. The *goat curry* is simply divine — rich, perfectly spiced, and falling-off-the-bone tender. Their *laccha paratha* is crisped to golden perfection, layered, and buttery without being heavy. Each dish feels thoughtfully prepared and deeply rooted in tradition. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, with decor that subtly reflects Himalayan culture. But what truly elevates the experience is the *service — kind, attentive, and full of heart*. You’re made to feel like a guest in someone’s home, not just a customer. Every bite and interaction radiates love and authenticity. Can’t wait to return! Y DziTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Man! Some of THE BEST Indian/Nepalese food I've had in America!!! I can't say enough. Now, I'm not Indian or Nepalese, so I reserve the right to be laughed at by someone who is. Nevertheless, everything about being at this restaurant was on point for me. The servers were very attentive, kind, respectful, and made me feel welcomed. The atmosphere was low key, which I like, and it allowed me and my son to enjoy our meals. The water tasted closer to tap than I was hoping, but hey, that didn't change anything for me. I enjoyed the tandoori chicken, which came in a nice portion. The moment it arrived may brain new, half of it was going home with me (more like 2/3s in reality). But the chicken was extra tender, which along with the chickpeas and jasmine rice...my goodness, 10/10!! My son has the tandoori lamb chops, which I felt the same way about (because I had to taste his food as parent privilege). Those lamb chops were so tender and seasoned, just right). I ordered cheese naan, which was the cheesiest naan in U.S. History! I just can't wait to go on a date here. I went on a Wednesday evening, and parking was fine, although it was on K Street NW. You have parking meters and probably a garage somewhere, but it was cool when we went. It's right next to the legendary Ashbury Methodist Church, so that was cool too. Please go to Himalayan Doko ASAP if you haven't already. Prices are a little above market, but the food made me okay with it. Your tummy won't regret it!
